The Society of Power Engineers (India) is an apex body engaged in the activities of technological upliftment of the power engineers of this country by making available latest technological developments all over the world to the members. Publication & distribution of information Journal, Workshops/Seminar, group discussion are regular features of the society.

The Headquarter of the SPE is at New Delhi with chapters at various places in the country.

The SPE (I), Ahmedabad Chapter is upcoming chapter in Ahmedabad & vicinity of same.. Considering Huge strength of industries, government departments & power industries in & around Ahmedabad, this chapter has been envisaged..

The SPE (I), Ahmedabad Chapter will be working in the activities of technological upliftment of the engineers related to Power Sector of this country by making available latest technological developments all over the world to the members.

The SPE (I), Ahmedabad Chapter will regularly organizing monthly Lecture Sessions, Seminars, Symposiums, Workshops and Training Programs for the benefit of all the Members as well as Industries and Academic Institutions. Publication & distribution of information Journal, Workshop / Seminar, Group Discussion, Study Tour etc. will be also regular features of this Chapter.

The SPE (I), Ahmedabad Chapter will also regularly publishes News Bulletin (Quarterly issues) giving information about the various important Workshops, Seminars etc. News of achievements by the members in the field of power is also covered in the bulletin.

One of the aims of SPE (I), Ahmedabad Chapter will be bridge the gap between Academy and Industry. SPE (I), Ahmedabad Chapter has a pool of well experienced engineers and experts in various fields. The Chapter has planned out a specific workshop program for benefit of College Students. The intention of this program is to reduce the gap particularly in respect of practical aspect amongst Students, Faculties, Academicians and Practicing Engineers in various disciplines of Power Engineering with a primary view to increase the chances of placement and enhance the application of latest development in Power System Engineering thereby updating the knowledge of faculties.

For the smooth & efficient functioning of the Chapter, the Executive Committee has developed time bound action plans. The Executive Committee members and the Advisory committee members invariably meet each month and exchange views on the development of the Chapter. A full-fledged power Engineering related institutional, financial, technical, managerial and administrative matters are discussed & finalised during such meetings.

The Executive Committee takes all major decisions only after review of the Advisory Committee. This brings unity in diversity. The Chapter is by the Engineers & for the Engineers.
